Is It Possible To Find Success Without Leaving Your 9-5 Job?

“No one got rich from being an employee!”

“Quit your 9-5 job if you want to be successful!”

“Start a business to get rich!”

Ask any modern guru out there and they’ll tell you that the only path to success is through entrepreneurship. But what if you don’t want to be a business owner?

Does that mean you’ll never be successful?

What success truly means

To answer this question, we must first define what success truly means.

Every person has a different version of success. For some, it’s having lots of money in the bank. For others, it’s climbing the corporate ladder.

To me, success simply means being able to build a career around the life that I want instead of the other way around. More than financial stability, being successful means having control over my time, taking care of my health, and sharing my blessings with the people who matter most to me.

Whether I achieve these through entrepreneurship or employment does not matter in the long run. What matters is the end goal: to be able to live a simple and purposeful life.

Now, take a moment to think about what it means to be successful on your terms. Next, ask yourself:

Do you need to build a business to achieve those goals? Or can you live the life you want with a full-time job?

Finding fulfillment in employment

Employment can be a wonderful journey. I’ve seen a lot of our Shepherd hires build success for themselves by being full-time remote employees.

For example, we have stay-at-home moms who get to balance a thriving career and a healthy home life. We’ve hired ex-OFWs who earn just as much as they did abroad without leaving their families for months at a time. We also have former BPO employees who now enjoy days without long commutes. For them, that’s success. Earning above-market salary rates is a great bonus, too!

Employment has also given me lots of opportunities. Without it, I wouldn’t have pitched Shepherd, and I wouldn’t be here typing this blog post. 🙂

The point is, there’s no shame in wanting to stay in a stable 9-5 job. Despite what business influencers are saying, it is possible to find fulfillment in employment. All of the people I’ve mentioned above found different versions of success as employees, including myself. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Look closer and you can find success stories of employees all around you. Maybe, you’re even one of them.

How to be rich as an employee

Finding opportunities as an employee is a topic that’s close to my heart. That’s why I’ll be sharing how you can be rich as an employee in a special class inside the Feast Conference this coming November 24-26 at SMX Manila.

FeastCon is one of the biggest inspirational events in the country, and I’m privileged to be part of the main speakers this year. I would love for you to join me and the dozens of speakers who seek to inspire, motivate, and share their experiences with fellow Filipinos. The best part? You can join FeastCon for free.

I’m giving away 20 tickets to the Feast Conference!

As a special treat to my readers, I am giving away 20 free tickets to the Feast Conference this year.

Entrepreneurship is not the only path to success

Entrepreneurship is not for everyone, just like how employment isn’t suited for everybody. We’ve all got different paths in life. The great thing about it is that you can choose what success means to you — and choose how you get there as well.

I can’t wait to talk more about this topic at FeastCon. I hope to see you there!
